Two weeks of filler?
What? Oh No! Kelly! Why Do You Hate Us?
So it turns out I don’t hate you! I have just been working overtime and making myself sick getting this BRAND NEW COMIC OFF THE GROUND! It has THREE pages! right off the bat! That’s like three updates!
It’s an M rated comic, so expect gore, tasteful nudity, and salty language. It starts out with four pages of guts, just to warn you if guts aren’t your thing.
I’ve been wanting to make this comic for more than a decade and I’m so excited to finally get the wind under its wings. MGDMT should return to regular-ish updates next week, I’m moving as soon as I get back from TCAF, but hey, when am I not killing myself with a million things to do?
And on the subject of TCAF, thank you so much to everyone who came out and bought things and let me rhasp at you with my scratchy broken voice! you guys all made this weekend amazing!

Gotta love Jared and Rock in costume to promote Platinum Black – they’re unmistakably Jared and Rock, always nice, and it can be tougher to draw a character in costume.
I was actually thinking “man, I thought Blue was a bit bulkier. Right now, those two look like Jared and the Comma— wait…”
Cool, I had forgotten when the new comic was meant to be uploaded, looking forward to it. We are blessed two have not one, but two webcomics by Kelly Turnbull. Incidentally, good to hear you had a good time at TCAF, I would imagine you were mostly busy the whole time, but did you manage to bump into any other cool creators? I browsed the list of creators attending and it seemed like an impressive lot, Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips, and Katie Beaton just to name a couple that caught my eye.
It seems as though you can’t actually advance to those “three pages” from the chp1 cover page, the arrows are greyed out. You can currently only get to them through the second link you gave there, or by clicking “last page” and backtracking.
I LOVE YOUR NEW COMIC. I WANT TO POST A COMMENT SO BAD THAT I’M GOING TO KEEP TRYING UNTIL IT HAPPENS.

The First/Previous/Next/Last buttons aren’t working on the cover page. Just fyi.
Probably because page 1’s URL is
/archives/comic/ch1p2and page 2’s is/archives/comic/ch1p2-2. The cover page is probably looking for.../ch1p1and not finding it.no, the issue was a chaching problem. The title of the page doesn’t matter for the archive.

I like what I saw of you new web-comic. I look forward to seeing more of it. Will it also be updated weekly? Also, any chance of a crossover (like way down the line)?
I wouldn’t mind you ditching this comic altogether if it means getting another comic you’ve been wanting to work on forever.

I’m pretty sure nobody will hold it against you for taking time off the strip to do… well pretty much anything. This is a good strip, but I think the rest of us are pretty sure you have a life of your own.

Navigation is broken on your new comic. The first page has no navigation buttons.

I really like what we’ve seen of Platinum Black so far! Can’t blame you for not letting us comment directly on the pages like right here, but I wanted to say that much.
By the by, I recommend a forum. A little context and a little accountability tends to make a world of difference in the shape a fan community might take. Plus if you don’t make an official one it’ll probably end up being hosted by Reddit
If you ever found yourself room to breathe, you’d get get bored and would start looking for things to do again. All good for us though!
They kinda look like Palette swaps of Jared and the Commander :/
This is a picture of Jared and Commander dressed like the main characters in the new comic, though Jared and Commander are heavily influenced by their designs because MGDMT was made to tide myself over while I got to a point I was comfortable enough to start that one. Commander is Daggett if he wasn’t Daggett.
Hey Colasquid, I know you’re busy and all but just wanted to let you know, I went to your new comic place and may have found a slight goof up one that is easily corrected. Clicking the “First page” button takes you to the chapter 1 cover page, http://platinumblackcomic.com/?comic=chapter-1-cover and the forward buttons are greyed out so you can’t navigate to the next page. You can access them from the archive button and if you hit the ‘last page’ button, but if you navigate to the cover page the navigate buttons are greyed out.

Okay, so I don’t think it was that farfetched that I thought this was a Pokemon comic at first. You got Jared in costume there. The title is a combination of two different Pokemon games, Black and Platinum. And the description mentions monsters and prize fighting. I thought it was going to be a super gory nuzlocke or something. But live and learn. Now I’ve got a new comic to add to the roster of updates.
Squid, this new comic is… ridiculously amazing. I’m gonna have to use the concept in a D&D game.

*gasp, wheeze* oh, man, for a minute there I thought you were going to say this comic was over and you were moving on to a new one, and my head almost exploded with disappointment. (despite not playing like, any video games, I still love this comic.) Really excited to read your new one!
I have literally only just now stumbled across Platinum Black and I’ve been reading this for quite some time.
The “Is the comic dead?” blog post makes me think it’s a near moot point now, but maybe consider something near the Donate button so we know it exists without referring to this comic
