zelda 1 and 2 same link and same ganon though ganon was more or less just the ghost of ganon that link killed in the first game that attached to links shadow and somehow even though being part of links shadow also managed to more or less screw up the world again and put zelda to sleep
That…That’s not at all what happened in Zelda 2. The two games had the same Link, but not the same Zelda; the sleeping Zelda in 2 had been asleep for hundreds of years and was an ancestor of the Zelda in 1. And Link’s shadow wasn’t possessed by Ganon either; the gnome-like guardian of the Triforce of Courage used magic to animate Link’s shadow to make Link prove himself worthy to claim the Triforce.
Just to be a complete nitpicky douchebag, the Zelda in II was not ancestor to the Zelda in I, but rather the sister of her ancestor IIRC. So, like an ultra-great aunt or ancestral aunt if you will.

these are all the Links that we know ARE the same from game to game. They are direct Sequels, so ..yes.. there are some times that it is indeed the same Link.
OoS and OoA have the same link as LttP and LA. As far as I understand it, LA happens while Link is embarked to return to Hyrule at the end of the Oracle plotline.
Ganon and Ganondorf aren’t in Link’s Awakening, Majora’s Mask or Phantom Hourglass, and as far as I’m aware he’s only in the Oracles games if you complete and connect both of them, meaning he only appears once between the pair of them. The statement wasn’t that Link is never the same Link in any two games, but that Ganondorf has never faced the same Link twice. It would appear that LttP and the Oracle series are the same Link, so Ganon has faced the same Link twice, whilst Ganondorf has not (the reincarnation in the Oracle series was imperfect, so they got mindless destruction Ganon).
LttP Link is the one who’s got the most games in the series. Link to the Past, Link Between Worlds, Link’s Awakening, the 2 Oracle games, and Triforce Heroes are all the same Link. LA and TH don’t have Ganon, but the other three have him in various forms, so Ganon fights that Link in one form or another a total of 3 times. Notably, that Link actually faces Ganon 4 times, sorta; LA had Nightmare as it’s final boss, and it uses Link’s memories of the battle against Ganon in LttP to take his form during the fight.
Link Between Worlds and Triforce Heroes aren’t the same Link as Link to the Past, the Oracle games, and Link’s Awakening. I haven’t played Triforce Heroes so I’m not sure if he’s the same one as Link Between Worlds or not, but I know he’s not from Link to the Past.
We also know that OoT’s Link is in Twilight Princess… Though not as Link. The old skeleton teaching you sword moves is canonically Link, just after he’d grown, unable to pass down his knowledge.
Link is the same person.. In all games. To quote lore from OOA and MA he is the hero of time that lies dormant in a slumber until Hyrule needs him. All of the lands hes been to are connected to Hyrule through the creepy talking trees. These trees are also the only ones who seem to be able to awaken and summon Link in times of distress.
Link seems to be a heroic soul that is reborn in times of need through its connection to the Triforce of Courage, but he is not literally the same person in every game.
Question: Have you read the comic A Tale of Two Rulers on Tumblr? It’s a really good Zelda AU comic and actually seems to address some of the issues you brought up.
For some reason, I started trying to follow the response thread here. And while I love me some Zelda, the inevitable result is that I have gone permanently crosseyed.
To be fair, about half of the Zelda games take place in other kingdoms. Oracle of Ages takes place in the kingdom of Holodrum, I forget where Oracle of Seasons takes place but it’s sure as hell not Hyrule, Link’s awakening takes place on an island that later turns out to be some whale’s dream bubble, it’s never been clear where Phantom Hourglass takes place, but again it’s specified that it’s not Hyrule, and Wind Waker takes place a couple hundred years after Hyrule’s been drowned beneath the waves. In fact, the only two games that I’m aware of that take place in Hyrule that don’t have Gerudo are Twilight Princess and Minish Cap. And it’s been so long since I placed Twilight Princess that I might be mistaken on that one. And yes, I AM aware that I skipped over a few Zelda games, but I also haven’t played all of them. Games and their players get expensive and I much prefer the roof over my head.
Let’s see The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, Link to the Past. Link Between Worlds. Ocarina of Time, Minish Cap, Four Swords, Twilight Princess and Four Swords Adventures. Wind Waker takes place above old Hyrule.
These games tend to flucatuate between having various races Gorons, Zoras, Ritos are Gerudos are just not always there. I wouldn’t read too much into it.
Skyward Sword may have taken place in the land that later became Hyrule but it wasn’t yet.
Holodrum, Labrynna and Koholint Island are obviously not Hyrule. The area explored in Phantom Hourglass is unamed, but the period is known as the great voyage and it’s end resulted in the formation of New Hyrule where Spirit Tracks takes place.
So yeah almost all games take place in old Hyrule. We don’t know whether this game is old or new Hyrule, but given the general placement of everything, I’d say it is. Which means it’d have to be the Link is defeated timeline or Link is victorious and the sacred realm is protected timeline.
Gieven the reverence to sages even naming things after them, I’d say the latter. We know it can’t be the Wind Waker timeline since that’s the same Ganondorf as Ocarina.
I think its the Child timeline, given that the Master Sword had previously been wielded by a Hero “Skyward Bound, Adrift in Time [and] Steeped in Twilight”.
Except if you’re calling the Child timeline that, the OoT sages never became sages in that timeline. In the end the game seems to have references to all three timelines, and may be an attempt to re-merge them all so future games don’t have to worry about it.
Telma in TP is suggested to possibly have Gerudo ancestry though it’s never stated overtly or confirmed. There’s a stronger argument that most Gerudo in the TP storyline got banished with Ganondorf and became the Twili (fixed that all female except the king curse somehow I guess). Zant seemed to think that Ganon was some sort of ancient god for their people.
Skyward Sword doesn’t have Gerudo, but Groose might’ve been a precursor, or there might have been survivors of the calamity that managed to hide out on the ground instead of in the sky.
Pretty much, but even when killed he reincarnates so sealing probably holds him longer. The implication in this game and I haven’t finished it yet so I’m not sure but it seems to be just Ganon, they only mention in passing that he was once born into the kingdom. So Ganondorf may have been consumed by his own power a long time ago.
Because Ganondorf managed to imprint on the Triforce of Power in pretty much all the time lines, Ganon at least can reform in the sacred realm/dark realm.
I still like to think Demise has just been possessing regular dudes who happen to be the king of the Gerudo all this time though. I seem to remember there’s something in the backstory/flavour text of Four Swords that suggests there may have been multiple Ganondorfs (reincarnations?), but all of them end up pretty much going down the same path.
Yeah. Still, it indicates at least that reincarnation is possible for Ganondorf, which I like because it allows for the idea that successive iterations might just be getting possessed by Demise. So maybe he has depths when he’s not possessed, or is possessed to different degrees at times. The world weary tragic villain Ganondorf in Wind Waker is very different from the angry crazed monster that appears in other parts of the series.
He did exactly one time, but in that case it was Ganon that was different. The Oracles games have the same Link as A Link to the Past, and Ganon can be fought in the linked game ending. Only problem is it’s only his mindless body that is revived.
Heh, sounds about right. I have conflicted emotions I admit given that I like the idea that Ganon could let go of all his negative feelings, but dislike the idea that it would end up becoming an environmental murder machine.
Sort of like that episode of Fairly Oddparents with Vicky’s evilness.
It’s actually kind of the opposite. That mass of hatred and malice? Ganondorf didn’t let go of it — it’s all that remains of him. While he died the death of the flesh plenty of times in the series, here he’s also died the death of the mind.
Ganondorf is the incarnation of Demise’s hatred, given form by the curse he sputtered out with his final breaths. Demise himself was sealed away and faded away to nothingness.
So why exactly doesn’t Link just release all of his hero-ness and make those things fight so he doesn’t have to waste his time collecting hundreds of the worlds most breakable weapons?
Link’s not magic like Ganon is. His whole bit most times is he’s just a guy picked by the godess for being really brave and because she has the hots for cute blondes. In Windwaker he was literally a 13 year old kid looking for his sister and the king basically begged him to save the world.
I have a theory that (at least in Nintendo canon) that Link’s bravery also comes from going around and meeting and befriending people who give him something to fight for. Like in OOT at least he befriended all the lady gerudo (and then beat the daylights out of Twinrova) even if he and ganondorf kinda hated each other. Then again he did basically just reject Ruto because she was a fish so maybe Coela is onto something with the racism thing.
In Ruto’s defense, Link had pretty much demanded an artifact from her that, to her people, is pretty much the ultimate engagement ring. She even mentions when you rescue her and ask for it that she’s only supposed to give it to the person she’s supposed to marry.
But I might even argue that so are the heart containers that Link would get from defeating strong enemies and (in BotW in particular) conquering hardship. Many of those enemies are unfortunately corrupted by the dark powers unleashed on Hyrule. By defeating them, Link is in a way saving them and cleansing them. There are a few times when Shadow Link is a major boss that defeating him reveals that he is still a Link, and underneath the shadow has the same potential for decency and kindness.
I think “The Bards Tale 4” answered that one…
Link gets a kickback deal in regards to how many clay pots busted by the Pottery Maker Guild. I figure it’s a “Auto-Remote Healing Prayer” which automatically kicks in per X number of clay pots broken.
What really should make you puzzle is…
Remote Auto-Healing — The Logistics
(Believe me in that once you ponder the unspoken LOGISTICS of “taken for granted” events, the paths of humor & logic your brain can unravel is HILARIOUS)
Okay, first off. The MAGIC aspect. A spell is like hypnotizing reality to reshape itself with very little effort or energy expended on your part.
A “smart spell” either requires a conscious spirit (air ghost) or an enchanted companion to witness then reward an action. In magic to electronic terms, a basic sensor activation decide.
We know Link’s fairy companion, “FLOATY NAGS-ALOT” can magically heal Link at any time. Happens on the intro, happens later in the game, even the most obvious clue on how Link is regularly resurrected. It would then be obvious that the Pottery Guild has enchanted the little naggy fairy companion to withhold auto-healing and supply healing per Pottery breakage.
The other choices are “Remote Healing VIA Spell Phoning”.
Magical Employees on 6-hour shifts, sending out minor heal spells automatically per the countdown clock to Magic-Tagged Pottery Breakers like Link. For the employees, they’d get a work area, their ingredients, food & drink, and most likely iconography of each Magic-Tagged Pottery Breaker. In this case, probably a hardened clay tablet with a rough picture of Link with some of his obtained hair molded inside to have a shortcut genetic lock to Link himself. Link’s Fairy would either be enchanted as Pottery Breaker Onserver or maybe Link’s hair would have an “observation spirit” linked to Link. Then after Link breaks 10 clay pots (any clay pots), his spirit observer sends a message to the remote healer by the living hair to the clipped hair inside the tablet which then activates a small bell which prompts the Magical Remote Healer to cast a Healing Spell on Link (which appears as an improvement in his Heart Counter). The Healing Spell gets pipelined through Link’s genetic & magic connection to his hair. To the Remote Magic Healer, all she sees is a tablet & bell.
*SPOILER ALERT: Zelda – Breath of the Wild*
It’s funny that you mention Link/Zora romance, because in Breath of the Wild it’s revealed that he and the Zora Princess, Mipha, are childhood friends that seem to be going steady. So I think Link isn’t against Zora romance, he’s just easily intimidated and likes to take things slow.
But he might be against Zora/Hylian marriage, since Mipha never got the chance to propose.
It stated that she liked Link and that she wanted to be in a relationship but not that they were in a steady relationship. It appeared to portray Zelda and Link in a similar manner with Urbosa even implying there was something between the two of them
Twas not the night for merry pun chains. Nay, I say, there were no giggling souls with mischief in their eyes, and humor in their grace. It was all mighty Hexar could do, to keep from slapping his face. A shame twas this opportunity, so tender, so ripe. But, oh, as the kids say it, it was a swing and a miss. So let us set SAIL, with a teardrop in our eyes, and set off to forget, this day, this night, an afternoon without a Winkie face.
Ganondorf wasn’t magical either until he came in contact with the triforce of power. If that gives him magical powers the Triforce of courage should do similar things for Link. Even without that link uses several magical abilities throughout the game such as Din’s fire
Maybe that’s exactly what’s happening oooOOOoohh
The real Link is still asleep and send his hero-ness out to fight for him. The weapons can’t handle that kind of energy so they break. Every time you die, a new ghost is formed from the hero’s essence to fight on.
OoooOOOOooohhh (<-spooky sounds)
Just remind yourself of probably the most casual brutality they come up with in that book, also my favorite (loose, it’s been a while too) quote:
“They just expanded the field further outside their ship so that the problems of breathing and talking in the vacuum of space and walking on the surface of an asteroid with barely any gravity quickly became Somebody Else’s…”
I could never get out of my head that there in fact is a person who’s problem it becomes. Just saying.
Do you WANT Link back in Hero mode? Do you want Link to kick down the door and smash your pots again? This is how you get Link to kick down your door and start smashing your pots! :P
Oh, it’s fun how much stuff you can weaponize in this game (Cuccos will still kill you if you’re not careful though). It’s quite fun beat a stalfos to (re?)death with its own arm and then taunt his remains with his buddy’s head just to throw it off a cliff.
Dear gosh I just realized how dark that sounds just after I typed it.
seriously, the second hand wii u market should be booming due to this game, coulped with the fact that many are def selling their wii u after getting a switch, and what with many switches sold out…. ebay folks. ebay.
Box? Weapon.
Cucco? Weapon.
Korok leaf? Weapon.
Air bladder of the octorok you just slaughtered five seconds ago? WEAPON.
BotW Link is a killing machine. He will stone cold shank a guy while they’re distracted by bananas.
Nah, Link is just a dick like that. Be breaks into homes of random villagers and shops and does the same thing. He even is ballsy enough to bust into guard huts and shoot pots in front of the town guard. Remember the gate guard hut in OOT?
Welp that might be a Problem Ganon … no that doesn’t sound right. Maybe a catastrophe? A mild apocalypse? A Cataclysm Ganon? Bad-things-coming-to-a-head Ganon. OF COURSE! The perfect name;
Gas Ganon – Gasnon for short.
Ganon’s fate in this game is actually tragic if you’re a fan of his character. Even if he is the reincarnated embodiment of a curse, he used to be something more. He used to be a man with hopes and dreams of giving his people a beautiful homeland. That’s all gone now.
Calamity Ganon is basically Ganondorf robbed of everything that defined him as a person that isn’t rooted in Demise’s grudge.
That’s so tragic :( Since Coela is a superfan of Ganondorf’s, I suspect there will be more comics (or at least fanart on her blog) about his BotW storyline after she plays the game.
I still want a game where Link teams up with a young reincarnated Ganondorf who just wants evil shadow calamity demon demise/malice to leave him alone and stop possessing him because that never seems to work.
At the start of the game, I was suspecting the old man was Ganondorf. I thought maybe he’d show up randomly throughout the game, lending a little aid here and there while making mysterious statements, whether he was attempting to atone for his actions or leading you into a trap. I was super-disappointed when it turned out not to be true.
If Coelasquid ever combines forces with the writers who write the Zelda Infinite Loops, the end result would probably be a Ganondorf so awesome that he would leap from our screens and take physical form.
It’s not the weapons fault. They’ve been sitting out in the weather for probably a hundred years, and you’re using them to cut down trees, hit rocks, and smash through robots and tough monster hide.
I just realized a lot of the smoke behind that purple creature is squareish, and contrasts with the creature itself. Is that on purpose, or just a side-effect the way you decided to draw it?
Not to answer for her, but it looks like a pre-loaded brush in Photoshop, and also matches the aesthetic of the game pretty well. That’s my guess, at the least.
Oh, I was using the Frenden oil pastel on canvas brush in Clip Studio. It’s actually the same brush for both, just one is blended strokes and one is stippled.
Commander is drinking orange juice from a champagne glass for brunch? Is this weird and his attitude is “Why wouldn’t I drink my OJ from a vessel designed to keep it chill and de-oxygenated” or normal and I’m a philistine (I mean, either way I’m a philistine, I’m just wondering if it’s applicable to this exact situation….)
Honestly as much as I enjoy the game for its gameplay and exploration. Well minus the over the top constant weapon breaking that is. The story really wasn’t anything to care about. The voice actor for Zelda and Daruk were terrible with a side of sub-par writing. While Ganon had less character then when he was just a giant pig monster.
So while the game is great it could have been better with a little effort in those spots.
I’ve finally caught up.
Dang, and I blitzed through 2014-2016 in one night.
Still fucking hilarious and compelling.
Did her Thyroid and whatever she broke in that car accident ever heal well?
I’d honestly like to see a LOZ game that breaks the mold of “gannon is the big bad” and it turns out he was actually committing what could be considered “minor atrocities” to prevent something even worse from getting into *land of the day, maybe hyrule, maybe somewhere else* and it ends up being that he and Link have to team up to defeat theultimate evil thing or whatnot. Could be hinted at in dark world sections where Gannon briefly shows up and instead of being hog-like he’s got lion or wolf like characteristics.
Please no. Ganon already has plenty of people arguing he’s not that bad despite the, you know, multiple attempted genocides and stuff. With things as they are, last thing we need is give ammo to the apologists!
Well, that attitude isn’t outside the Ganondorf range. I recall the Wind Waker Ganondorf basically went, “I’m done with this, I just can’t be bothered to be mad anymore,” and then dies. MGDMT Ganondorf just skipped the dying step here, and made it someone else’s problem.
If it isn’t, it should be.
Anytime Ganondorf makes an appearance it going to be a good one.
And then they try to keep Link the same, even though he’s technically a different person.
I’m not kidding; Ganon has never faced the same “Link” more than once, reincarnation not withstanding.
zelda 1 and 2 same link and same ganon though ganon was more or less just the ghost of ganon that link killed in the first game that attached to links shadow and somehow even though being part of links shadow also managed to more or less screw up the world again and put zelda to sleep

*GIGGLESNORT*
I mean, you’re possibly not wrong! Goodness knows Nintendo is big on making him as different as possible for EVERY FRIGGIN GAME.
Well he is a generational character. Same villain reborn in a new body.
not true. He’s usually the same EXACT guy from game to game. not reincarnated, just imprisoned and released over and over.
Which is how he can show up in Link to the Past, despite the Gerudo having been possibly exterminated.
To be fair, about half of the Zelda games take place in other kingdoms. it’s possible that they decided to scrap the “timelines” cause they couldn’t decide which one they wanted Breath of the wild to exist in.
Telma in TP is suggested to possibly have Gerudo ancestry though it’s never stated overtly or confirmed. from what I’ve see, it’s that calamity thing from Skyward sword, Just, with like a few centuries to fester and
DigiEvolve. It’s not. The Imprisoned is a sealed form for Demon King Demise. Calamity Ganon is still Ganon but after several millennia.
But it was implied that Ganon has Demise’s spirit reincarnated in him, which is why he is so hell bent on causing the destruction of Hyrule.
And then they try to keep Link the same, even though he’s technically a different person.
I’m not kidding; Ganon has never faced the same “Link” more than once, reincarnation not withstanding.
Technically, the Link from the Oracle games is the same one from ALttP. That one kills Ganon twice.
Link’s Awakening is also that Link.
He did exactly one time, but in that case it was Ganon that was different. The Oracles games have the same Link as A Link to the Past, and Ganon can be fought in the linked game ending. Only problem is it’s only his mindless body that is revived.
I would take “A Tale of Two Rulers” as well. That thing is an emotional rollercoster with no breaks.
I’m loving that too :D

I kinda want a Ganon version of that frozen song now
You so did not just say that….
The fires burn bright in Hyrule tonight,
Not a pixie to be seen…
The desert wind is howling
and as the only man, I’m the king.
A kingdom in devastation,
No need to take its queen.
The sky is seared purple, tainting the world outside,
I finally won
And Link almost died.
Link? Twas it not Ben who drowned that day?
So I wasn’t the only one who thought about that…
Completely with the dress though.
Well, think of it this way. Your conflicted emotions monster will kill and destroy whatever made you feel that way.
I have played most of the game and can confirm that this is canon.
I can confirm that this is Ganon
too be fair, i haven’t played the game either and this sounds exactly like what happened.
me neither coela, got the game but waiting for the console now XD
(should have it tomorrow ahah)
right now I’m getting busy with horizon though

this is why this webcomic has the best commenters
Ganondorf is the incarnation of Demise’s hatred, given form by the curse he sputtered out with his final breaths. Demise himself was sealed away and faded away to nothingness.
YOU’D LIKE TO THINK THAT, WOULDN’T YOU?
YOU THOUGHT IT WAS DEMISE, BUT IT WAS ME,
DIOGANONDORF ALL ALONG!Because I am a huge nerd, the actual quote that Mark Twain made and was reported is “The report of my death was an exaggeration.”
The “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.” was a misquote in a poorly written biography of Samuel Clemens.
Less like he let go of it, more like it let go of him.
So he’s Giygas from Earthbound?
So why exactly doesn’t Link just release all of his hero-ness and make those things fight so he doesn’t have to waste his time collecting hundreds of the worlds most breakable weapons?
Because that would make sense. Nintendo doesn’t deal with logic, silly…
TBF Ruto started talking about marriage about ten minutes after she met the guy. Kind of coming on a little strong there.
In Ruto’s defense, Link had pretty much demanded an artifact from her that, to her people, is pretty much the ultimate engagement ring. She even mentions when you rescue her and ask for it that she’s only supposed to give it to the person she’s supposed to marry.
Ergo, he is not merely a hero.
Link channels the spiritual might of “The HOPE of the Oppressed People’s.”
It is a power that all politicians abuse mightily.
Pieces of Heart have long been a symbol of that.
This doesn’t explain why he gets heart refills for breaking all the pots in stranger’s homes.
Naaaah, he didn’t reject her.
Ruto x Link is my fanon.
It appeared to portray Zelda and Link in a similar manner with Urbosa even implying there was something between the two of them
To be fair, the King was kind of limited on options at the time as far as what he could do. He wasn’t aboat to let an opportunity slip him by.
Not just a guy. Inheritors of the Spirit of the Hero.
Ganondorf wasn’t magical either until he came in contact with the triforce of power. If that gives him magical powers the Triforce of courage should do similar things for Link. Even without that link uses several magical abilities throughout the game such as Din’s fire
’cause that would not make a very good game now would it?
Maybe that’s exactly what’s happening oooOOOoohh
The real Link is still asleep and send his hero-ness out to fight for him. The weapons can’t handle that kind of energy so they break. Every time you die, a new ghost is formed from the hero’s essence to fight on.
OoooOOOOooohhh (<-spooky sounds)
Now I’m flashing back to Ultima Online, thanks.
I don’t know but this is hilarious.
Also, can one of the tags for this be Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy?
Or is NMP-field too much of a stretch?
…Somebody Else’s Problem Field…
Ah, right. It’s been awhile since I read it.
If it’s breath of the wild Link, this will also include copious amounts of setting everything on fire.
And, apparently, killing enemies using chickens.
Wait, so Link FINALLY decides to weaponize those demonic birds against his enemies?
Oh, it’s fun how much stuff you can weaponize in this game (Cuccos will still kill you if you’re not careful though). It’s quite fun beat a stalfos to (re?)death with its own arm and then taunt his remains with his buddy’s head just to throw it off a cliff.
Dear gosh I just realized how dark that sounds just after I typed it.
Now I wish I had the console and could play this game…
No Wii U?
seriously, the second hand wii u market should be booming due to this game, coulped with the fact that many are def selling their wii u after getting a switch, and what with many switches sold out…. ebay folks. ebay.
Box? Weapon.
Cucco? Weapon.
Korok leaf? Weapon.
Air bladder of the octorok you just slaughtered five seconds ago? WEAPON.
BotW Link is a killing machine. He will stone cold shank a guy while they’re distracted by bananas.
Pretty cool, yeah, if I MIGHTY say! ;D
WITH the bananas
*MY* experience of BotW so far has included mostly large amounts of bravely running away from fights. :-3
Good thing too! When the enemies respawn they’re usually stronger.
Nah, Link is just a dick like that. Be breaks into homes of random villagers and shops and does the same thing. He even is ballsy enough to bust into guard huts and shoot pots in front of the town guard. Remember the gate guard hut in OOT?
You eventually make it up to one of them, by fulfilling their creepy ghost fetish after the Hyrule Guard jig goes bust.
To be fair, that guard talks about how he’s bored and how you should smash up those pots to give him a little bit of excitement.
This makes so much sense for the BotW story given what little I’ve seen of it.
I thought it was about snowboarding down mountains on your shield and taming things that are not horses.
stable guy refusing to let me register a stag was the saddest game moment so far. he was the best deer, till bokoblins killed him and i ate him.
I’ve been trying to catch a goat, no success so far. Maybe it’s not possible. But I refuse to stop believing! You can’t make me!
Wait Bros, you mean I can ride a Water Buffalo?
Man! And I thought the Stalfos Horses were cool!
Not sure about the Water Buffalo. But deer, bears, the Lord of the Mountain, and FRIGGIN LYNELS can all be ridden.
This *is* the literal plot of Final Fantasy IV, though…
Welp that might be a Problem Ganon … no that doesn’t sound right. Maybe a catastrophe? A mild apocalypse? A Cataclysm Ganon? Bad-things-coming-to-a-head Ganon. OF COURSE! The perfect name;
Gas Ganon – Gasnon for short.
Although with all honesty the name Vortex Ganon would be kinda cool.
ArmaGannon
And of course, this game shows the beauty of the desert the Gerudo are native to…
At the start of the game, I was suspecting the old man was Ganondorf. I thought maybe he’d show up randomly throughout the game, lending a little aid here and there while making mysterious statements, whether he was attempting to atone for his actions or leading you into a trap. I was super-disappointed when it turned out not to be true.
Yes let go of your anger let it flow out of you like a viscous ichor.
I’m naming my death metal band Viscous Ichor now, thank you.
What about Vicious Ichor instead?
Theres a little black blob standing up against the hate murder machine in the back there, is that saitama?
It looks like those jumbo aerial antennas apartment complexes and businesses use to provide broadcast TV to their tenants/customers.
Speaking of Breath of the Wild…
I think that this would’ve made a lot more sense than lost control due to botched resurrection.
Am i the only one picturing Gannon singing Let it go as he casts off all the anger and resentment?
On the internet, you’re never the only one.
If Coelasquid ever combines forces with the writers who write the Zelda Infinite Loops, the end result would probably be a Ganondorf so awesome that he would leap from our screens and take physical form.
Is Ganon instagramming his brunch with that phone?
I just noticed the possibility, but nah, he wouldn’t risk the place being overrun by cheap coworkers.
You totally should play the new… Dang it. My weapon broke. Time to switch to a new one.
Zelda game. It’s re… Another one broke.
It’s really fu… Crap. New weapon time.
Fun.
It’s not the weapons fault. They’ve been sitting out in the weather for probably a hundred years, and you’re using them to cut down trees, hit rocks, and smash through robots and tough monster hide.
Hey, an in-comic explanation for why your Ganondorf is always so out-of-character he might as well BE a different character.
That’s nice.
Im glad to see they haven’t put that all you can eat brunch place out of business.
I’m just excited to see that their secret brunch spot hasn’t gone out of business.
Reminds me of Zeromus from Captain SNES
Not that Zeromus is FROM captain SNES, of course – it’s from FF4 – but I mean the particular role Zeromus took in Captain SNES.
Spoilers:
Ganondorf basically becomes Spider.
End spoiler.
I wonder if Link will treat Ganondorf any differently and have a better outlook on the Gerudos since *stop here for mild spoilers*
1. Link lost all his memory and 2. The Yiga clan of Shikah are 1000x more annoying than getting caught in Gerudo Fortress will ever be.
spot on actually, they just forgot to put Rock in it and the game suffers direly from his absence. what were they even thinking ?!
Good to know. I’ll inform my wife about that one for when she does some BOTW artwork.
So what ratio of orange juice to champagne do Commander and Ganon like most?
Commander is drinking orange juice from a champagne glass for brunch? Is this weird and his attitude is “Why wouldn’t I drink my OJ from a vessel designed to keep it chill and de-oxygenated” or normal and I’m a philistine (I mean, either way I’m a philistine, I’m just wondering if it’s applicable to this exact situation….)
It’s a mimosa (champagne + orange juice). It’s the drink of choice for all brunches.
Plus you can usually get infinite mimosas for like ten bucks if you roll up to the brunch place at the right time.
I once did a Sunday morning paint & sip class simply for infinite free mimosas. $35 for the class, but I got a picture of a tree out of it.
You cannot convince me that lunch exists for any reason other than socially acceptable drinking before noon.
Brunch* Wow I messed that up. We need an edit button or something.
Brunch sounds great!
Clearly this is why he’s so chill in Wind Waker!
So calling it now. That’s officially the Sha of Bacon.
Well enough, I guess hahah, I don’t have a hole in my neck anymore and I can move my arm above my head again.
Did he also ball up all the fucks he should be giving? What’s that destroying right now?
The gerudo in this game look like you designed them, really. I think you’ll love them.
Does this mean that Hyrule Castle is now a Superfund site?
wow… I rushed trough the WHOLE thing in under two days… I just love it^^ say, is there any chance we will see eddie rings?
I haven’t gotten to play it yet but from what I’ve seen online the plot is a bunch of new characters who all want to bone link for some reason.
“Ehhh, it’s Future!Ganon’s problem…”
Name THAT reference and get a cookie. ;)
Yeah, it’s a good thing I’m taking so long to let go of my resentment. Wouldn’t really want to turn half of England and Wales into glass, and all.
