People liked Fattest Pigeon and I’m still in the thick of con season so here’s another Fattest Pigeon comic.

Two jokes spring to mind about that, Mollys. The first one would be to deliberately call you the wrong name, channeling Sailor Moon the Abridged. The second option would be to have the first Molly turn into a giant monster so ending with second Molly accepting her flaws and gaining a Persona.

Jared is being surprisingly callous to the fattest pigeon.
He probably expected them to romp and have fun, but I’m sure he won’t give up his recovery effort until fattest pigeon is safe and sound.

I concur…it’s amazing to watch them go from regular pigeon to round pigeon, though. They also fluff up to try to discourage predators…which seems kinda counter-intuitive since it kinda makes them look more tasty or whatever? I have pet pigeons, and one right now is just this little feathered hacky sack whenever I get too close to her when she’s sitting on her eggs.

I have the biggest appreciation for Mr. Fish. I never thought a big-ass Gyarados could fit so well into regular appearances in a consistently awesome webcomic.

It’s a pigeon. They’re nigh-indestructable, and you don’t have to worry about them. No chance of trauma either, as they are perpetually oblivious.

The look of anguish on the pigeon’s face made me laugh more than I care to admit. I didn’t think pigeons were capable of being so expressive!
Pidgeons see the world in matrix bullet time… He was moving slowly but inexorably towards a cavernous maw of a gigantic blue dragon fish, with no way to stop himself or escape… just slowly, slowly inching forward.
This reminds me of the part in Fables where the Big Bad Wolf won’t eat a rabbit because it’s not big enough to be a snack, but only something to be stuck between his teeth. The Fattest Pigeon is smaller than that, but obviously it’s fat and juicy enough to be a solid meal. It’s truly The Fattest Pigeon.
I wonder if it would be friends with The Saddest Turtle.

I guess Mr. Fish didn’t have to wait until October for Jared to get bored of Animal Crossing and find ridiculously cute animals to feed to him. I woder if the fattest pigeon is supossed to be a Pidgey stand-in.
Nope, it’s a reference to the game “Hatoful Boyfriend“, which featured in MGDMT a while back (forget how long, off the top of my head, and not doing an archive dive to find it :P ).
Oh, I thought it was another reference to Animal Crossing – I haven’t played it myself, but I know you’re supposed to find Perfect things, like Perfect Apple or Perfect Fish, so the Fattest Pigeon would just be another variant on that? Ay danno. :U

Who’s McGarrett? I was going for more of a Canada Guy thing. :U Thought about saying the whole “Ay danno, halthcare?” but I figured most readers of the comic would figure it out regardless.
Steve McGarrett was the lead character of Hawaii Five-O. Famous for the line ‘Book ’em, Danno.’ (‘Danno’ being Dan Williams, of course.)
That last panel right there, that is the epitome of absolute trust.
Either that, or Jared doesn’t realize how much danger he’s in.
It makes me wonder, does Jared have any badges? If not, I wonder if there’ll ever be a Jared-centric story arc where Mr. Fish goes rogue and Jared has to earn some badges before Mr. Fish will listen to him again.

That only happens with traded pokemon. If you are the OT, they never go rogue.
nah, in red/blue they did.
Replayed them not too long ago. My charmader got to level 50 before I got even close to the appropriate badge and I had to bench him until I earned a couple.
You had to have had a traded Charmander then. If it had the same trainer ID as your current file, it won’t go rogue. I’ve never once had one go rogue in red/blue that was originally caught in that save file even when my highest badge was for levels below my highest level pokemon.
Fun one!
But i wonder how long mister fish will keep up with his stuff, sure, he’s a pokemon, but even he can think “its been eneugh, i’ll go find a master who actually allows me to feed meself!”

Jared is the best master a pokémon could hope to have: He doesn’t coop Mr. Fish up in a tiny ball, keep him stuck in PC limbo and forget about him, trade him away to a stranger, replace him with a ‘better’ pokémon or divide his attention 6 ways. Jared really cares about Mr. Fish and it shows.

Oh, I thought Jared went with ‘fetch’ not ‘don’t eat’. And looking further down the page it seems I’m not the only one that did. Then again I’ve never played pokemon, thus have never seen such a message for real, thus do not know how they group the moves together, therefore I trust the judgement of others.
Imagine if he had forgotten “Don’t eat Jared” to learn Hyper Beam…

As Mr.Fishy didn’t delete “Fetch Jared” and “Don’t Eat” commands (back in the Nomura Syndrome story arc), TFP (The Fattest Pigeon) still has a chance to be rescued.. or it will meet the other Pokemon Mr.Fishy ate in the long run ^_^;
Those two commands were actually “Don’t Eat Jared” and “Fetch” so I don’t think anything obviously edible or vulnerable besides Jared is safe.
The way you draw each characters’ expression is phenomenal. Pidgeon’s face in the second panel is pure gold.
He is a brave pigeon that went to the depths of hell itself and when he return to his people he will be hailed as a hero for his brave actions

I saw a few others link pictures of fat looking pigeons in the comments for these two fattest pigeon comics, but most of those were just fluffed up feathers because they were cold.

Nah, if he’d been a water/dragon it would have completely unbalanced him as a playable Pokémon, even in the unbalanced world of gen 1. His x4 weakness to electricity is literally the only thing that kept him from being removed from competitive play since his stats and move pool is too good.
When is Jonesy going to conveniently announce that she has a younger sister that would be perfect for Jared? Kid needs a lady.

I love Jared’s unhesitating willingness to walk into a giant sea-dragon’s mouth to retrieve a pigeon.
